Doing Business investigation

A World Bank-commissioned investigation published in 2021 found that pressure by Georgieva, then the Bank's Chief Executive Officer, and adviser Simeon Djankov was among the factors behind changes to China data in the Doing Business 2018 report. Georgieva rejected the findings and their interpretation of her role, while the IMF Executive Board later said its review did not conclusively demonstrate that she had played an improper role.
